Photoshop Elements 8 Beyond the Basics: On the High Seas
For Mac and Windows

This class is SELF STUDY. It was originally written as an instructor led class, so you will find references to message boards and posting homework. Self Study courses have no instructor support and you are not required to post any homework. There is no message board, and certificates are not awarded. You will be able to download the whole course and supporting materials all at once and work at your own pace.

IMPORTANT! This is an intermediate course and follows Photoshop Elements 8: Setting Sail and Photoshop Elements 8 Part 2: Clear Sailing. You must take the previous courses before taking this one because the exercises and subject matter in this course rely on knowledge taught in the previous classes. While you need not have posted your work and participated on the class boards in previous classes, it is recommended that you have at least done the lessons on your own before starting this class since we will be using skills learned in the previous classes.

LVS OnlineThis class is a continuation of the basics classes and will cover more advanced aspects of working with Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac and PC. This course includes adding third party filters, using and installing actions, and using and installing layer styles. It also covers working with custom color swatches, color tables, replacing skies, working with patterns and much more! Join me to extend youe knowledge of Elements and see how far you can sail!

This class does not cover the Organizer. Because of the scope of the Organizer and the fact it is as feature-packed as a separate program, it has its own classes, and is it not included in the Mac version of Elements. The organizing aspects of the Organizer is covered in a separate class, Photoshop Elements: Using the Organizer.

Prerequisites:

You need Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows or Mac installed on your computer.

Students are encouraged to post homework for review and to participate on the class message boards, but unless you are a certificate student, that is not required to complete the class. You are welcome to work on your own if you prefer.

Homework can be posted to your own site, or students have the option of using the Student Upload Area or free web hosting made available for LVS students. Details are provided in the classroom. There are also posting ideas here.
