Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 3.0: A New
Version!
Part 5
Spot Healing Brush and Healing Brush
The Healing Brush got its start from Photoshop®, and is a
tool everyone was glad to see included in Elements 3.0. It works
like the clone stamp tool where you sample an area to heal from
by opt/alt clicking before starting the healing process. The Spot
Healing Brush is a whole new ball game, as you will see in a minute.
Healing Brush
A scratch, blemish, tear, or even a discoloration can be eliminated
in a few seconds with the healing brush. Sample from a good area
of the photo and if you watch the healing brush as you use
it, you can almost see it think as it determines the best match
from your sampled area.

Spot Healing Brush
The Spot
healing brush, however, is entirely new for Elements 3.0. This
tool lets you paint over part of an image and it fills it in, removing
your subject from the picture in seconds! We may see this one in
a later version of Photoshop®, or Elements users
may get to keep it all to themselves. Time
will tell!
