Photoshop Elements 2 is Adobe's latest incarnation of Photoshop
Elements, their brilliant replacement for Photo Deluxe and
Photoshop LE. I say brilliant because Adobe has managed to
pack a lot of punch into this program, especially when considering
it's low price, about 1/6 the cost of it's big brother Photoshop.
For editing digital photos it's great! Author Richard Lynch
takes Elements farther than you'd ever imagine.
While this is not a beginners book, Lynch has written a clear,
easy to follow book full of more advanced techniques designed
to make the reader a guru of photo correction. He believes
that in order to be use Elements effectively you don't have
to know every single tool and filter---you just have to know
the right ones, and he gives you that knowledge. Are you one
who wants to know why you are using a certain tool to do a
certain job? Lynch tells you why, in exercises and examples
using photos supplied on the CD, enabling you to choose the
right tools when editing your own photos. Get ready to learn
professional correcting secrets. Not only will you learn color
correction, but also how to isolate image elements to correct
problem areas. A full color section shows the before and after
of the examples.
Even with all Photoshop Elements has to offer, Lynch thought
there could be more, and he was right! Through easy to install
Hidden Power add-ins, Lynch has added functionality to Elements
like Curves, Quick Masks, and channels that make full Photoshop
so powerful.

since the book came out, and now even Photoshop Actions can
