LVS Online

This class is SELF STUDY. It was originally written as an instructor led class, so you will find references to message boards and posting homework. Self Study courses have no instructor support and you are not required to post any homework. There is no message board, and certificates are not awarded. You will be able to download the whole course and supporting materials all at once and work at your own pace.

Adobe Photoshop Elements: Learn to Love Layers

LVS OnlineLayers are one of the most important skills you can learn in Photoshop Elements. Their understanding is essential in using the program successfully, yet they are often one of the hardest concepts for users to grasp. This class will get you going with layers: you will learn to use the layers palette, what it means to merge layers, and how to make new layers, as well as the difference between a background and layer. You will learn to use layer masks and make collages and great Out of Bounds (OOB) effects that will have people asking you how you did that! We will be doing six weeks of hands-on projects so you work with layers and really understand how to use them and why they are so important. At the end of this course, you will wonder why you ever thought they were hard! This class is for PSE 6 and 7.

Prerequisites:

You should have taken the basics classes first. You will need web space if you intend to post homework. Homework can be posted to your own site, or students have the option of using the Student Upload Area or free web hosting made available for LVS students. Details are provided in the classroom.
