At Stand Rock in the Dells, a man and his dog make the 5 foot leap between the rocks. The most famous leaper was photographed by H.H. Bennett in the 1860's, who invented the stop-action camera shutter. His photo catching his son Ashley mid-air in a leap across this rock was the source of amazement. Previous to his invention, the photos taken were the type where you had to be very still for 2-3 minutes as the picture developed. His invention was the beginning of photography as we know it today.
